The Devil’s In My Slide
(3:32) with Rob Wullenjohn on slide guitar and Mark Macario on drums

There is a stretch of road along old highway one Where dwells a demon who enjoys his evil fun Every couple years he gets a little bored Brings forth the rains and washes out the road The devil is in my slide The devil is in my slide He’ll take you straight to hell if you dare to ride The devil is in my slide And when the road is out the people all are stuck Behind a barrier of evil mud and muck The devil laughs at all the people in the town Grimacing in gridlock as they try to go around The devil’s evil plan goes deeper still by far Than simply inconveniencing the people in their cars He also worked his way inside and poisoned people’s brains Getting them to try to do a thing that was insane They tried to build a highway - to bypass all the trouble Right across a wilderness, reducing it to rubble Just in time the people woke and changed this evil plan But the devil isn’t finished yet, he still controls Caltrans |
